Asst. 4-H Extension Educator

Amanda is the Assistant 4-H Extension Educator in the York Extension Office. She originated from Firth, Nebraska, where she was raised on a diversified production farm. She grew up raising cattle, butchering chickens, and swathing hay all summer long. She graduated from Norris High School and was fortunate enough to serve as a Nebraska FFA State Officer the year after graduation.

She attended Southeast Community College in Beatrice, then transferred to Northwest Missouri State University, where she graduated in 2013 with a degree in Agriculture Education. For the past 6 years, she served as an agriculture education teacher, and FFA advisor, with a local school system. Currently, she resides in Stromsburg with my family. She married her husband, Justin, in 2013 and have since added two beautiful girls into the mix; Dixie was born in 2016 and Thea arrived in 2019. Outside of my work, and mom life, she enjoys keeping her hands busy with creativity. She loves photography and crafting as much as possible, all of which stem back to her early days with 4-H. She picked up the skill of crocheting in college, and love to make baby blankets for all my friends and family members. If possible, she loves to travel, and have been to seven different countries, and 30 different states, to date. Exploring new cultures, old history, and beautiful scenery are all parts of the travel experience she adores. She also enjoy a diverse taste in music, which might mean that you may hear her singing in the back office if you pop in.
